All these times that we've been to Japan, we've never had a kimono experience. This time, however, since Miss Kiki was also willing, we made the appointment and did it! I chose to have it in Himeji because at the time this was planned, the Sakura forecast said that we would catch the full bloom when we were in Himeji. Alas, it got delayed by about a week! Anyhow, the experience had been booked and we went with it anyway.
We rented Kimonos from Hana Karen Himeji. I made reservations in advance via chat on Google Maps. It was a pretty chilly day when we were there so I also rented a shawl to go with the Kimono. It was so much fun to walk around in kimonos and a special thanks to DH for being our designated photographer for the day!
I never knew that when a woman wears a kimono there are so many layers inside! They even added a towel as well as a hard belt to keep your posture up. Anyhow, I loved the way it feels to wear one, I think it really suits my style and personality haha.
Here are our pictures in kimonos.
