Dieng Plateau 2024

The school holiday finally arrived, we and our travelling pants besties planned a trip to the ā€œLand Above the Clouds,ā€ Dieng Plateau. Our 5 families drove in 5 cars to the pet-friendly cabin we rented for 3 nights. The drive itself took about 7-8 hours, with short stops in rest areas. Be careful when you drive to Dieng following Google Maps, because Google Maps will bring you via the fastest route but not necessarily the safest/best route. Check with your accommodation provider for the recommended route to get there.

When we arrived at the cabin, it was already close to sunset. It was foggy, and we were all tired from the drive. The very next morning after breakfast, we all drove to Arjuna Temple. Our pooches were allowed in the garden area, but were not allowed inside the gate of the temple area. So I stayed behind with the pooches and let everyone else go inside. It didnā€™t take long for them to explore, they soon came out and we moved on.

The next stop was lunch! We went to Kedai Ongklok. The doggos waited patiently in the car while we had our meal.

After lunch, even though we had planned to see a few sights, it started raining. So we got split up, DH and Miss Kiki went to Telaga Warna.

We then came back to our cabin. The rain had stopped but it was still misty and foggy. It was a pretty sight!

The following day was the highlight of our trip, this is something that most tourists do in Dieng: Dieng Jeep Tour! I booked the tour via Ady from Jeep Atas Awan, +6281391053340.

We were picked up at our cabins before the sun and the chickens woke up, and we went in Jeeps to one of the sunrise spots. When we arrived, the hill was already pretty packed with tourists but we were able to enter and it was a beautiful sunrise regardless.

Our next stop after sunrise was a field where they usually hold the Dieng Culture Festival. At the time when we were there it was an empty field of grass, frosted from the chill of the night. We parked the Jeeps and took some pictures before moving on.

We havenā€™t had our breakfast yet, so we went back to our cabin to fuel up and then we continued our Jeep adventure. We visited a waterfall, drove through a large, hilly farm area dubbed Swiss van Java, climbed up a viewing platform at Batu Ratapan Angin, drove through a tea plantation, and stopped at a few other places. It got too hot closer to midday so we wrapped up and headed back to the cabin. From our 3 furbabies, I think only Yuki enjoyed the Jeep ride. The other two still enjoyed the stops and walks though, so it was still worth it to take them.

Time to go home!

And that concludes our trip to Dieng Plateau, please look forward to the next post!

Nintendo Switch Sleeve Tutorial

Hi! I'm Kirana from woofkiki.blogspot.co.id . I am going to write an introduction for this blog post. We bought a Nintendo Switch in Japan.  I really liked it and played with it almost everyday. If you're wondering what a Nintendo Switch is, it is a video game where you can basically  "switch" everything. The joy-cons and even the game! You can also connect it to your TV. It would be nice to bring it around with you, but when you put it in your bag... Oh no! The screen scratched! So, this is a sleeve that will fix that. Let's get started!šŸ˜Š Kirana Now the tutorial (by Kirana's mom)... 1. Make your pattern according to the picture below. It is basically a 6"x24" rectangle with a semi circle at one end. Note: this is not a printable pattern 1. Cut your outer fabric, lining, and batting(optional). In this tutorial, I used minky for lining and a pre-quilted fabric for the cover, so I didn't need extra batting. For batting, I recomm...

World of Ghibli Exhibition Jakarta 2017

A few months back I received an email about World of Ghibli exhibition in Jakarta. My skeptical brain immediately thought, "Aah, how good could it be... I've visited the museum in Mitaka   and it's probably not going to be any better." Fast forward to August, a few of my Japan loving friends mentioned that rumours said that the displays are very good, made by Indonesians in cooperations with Ghibli representatives from Japan. In fact, so good that the Japanese company plans to take the displays and give them a home in Japan. Well hearing this from several different people definitely piqued my interest and I decided to check it out. It turned out that Miss Kiki and DH also wanted to go so I bought tickets from Traveloka  because they had a sale.  In the morning of our visit day, I asked Miss Kiki if she wanted to dress up as Kiki when she goes and she excitedly said yes. I made her a red bow headband with Cotton and Steel's Supreme Solid in Bandana  ...

Japan Trip June 2016 - Part 9 - Osaka

It was a super hot and bright morning and we were all packed and ready to ride the train to Osaka. We had no excuse to take a taxi so we walked to Kyoto Station... It was a rather short ride considering we moved cities, it was still around noon when we arrived at Osaka Station. The AirBnb property I had booked looked close to the station on the map, but it was further than expected. We were so sweaty by the time we got there, mostly because of our backpacks and our suitcases! I was very impressed Miss Kiki carried her backpack without complaints even though it was pretty stuffed by then. Taken from Osaka Station We had to change our wet and sticky clothes upon arrival, and after a bit of rest we decided to head out. First to Tenjimbashisuji Shopping Street listed on a tourist guide just over 1 km away. It was so hot and sunny I regretted not taking a hat for any of us. I was lucky I hadn't forgotten to bring my sunglasses. When we got there, we real...
