Japan Spring 2024 - Part 12 Shirohige Cream Puff Factory and Yoyogi Park

Totoro Cream Puffs

In the previous times Iā€™ve been to Japan, visiting the Shirohige Cream Puff Factory has been on my list. Unfortunately, it had always been pushed back due to other sites we wanted to visit. The cafe is located a little far out and is not close to anything else we had planned so we had to skip. This time, however, I made the time to finally go. We got up early to make it there by the opening time, because they sell out pretty quickly.

When we arrived, there was already a long line. Know that there are two lines, one for dine-in, and the other one is for take-out. I didnā€™t care too much about dining in so we lined up for the take out. This line moved a lot faster than the dine-in line for obvious reasons. The Totoro cream puffs were absolutely adorable, I bought one of each flavour. Some of the flavours are seasonal, and some are permanent. I also bought some cookies to go.

After we got our puffs, we went to an outdoor dining area nearby and had coffee with our puffs. They were puffy, tasty, and not too sweet at all!

After we finished our snack, we went back to the train station and took the train to our next destination: Yoyogi Park. This park is one of the famous large parks in Tokyo, and we were hoping to see more cherry blossoms there. And sure enough, we did!

After Yoyogi Park, we went to have lunch at Lukeā€™s Lobster and in the evening we met up with Miss Kikiā€™s friend from pre-school who now lives in Japan. The last time we met was years ago and they both grew so much since then!

And that was our day, please stay tuned for Part 13!

Nintendo Switch Sleeve Tutorial

Hi! I'm Kirana from woofkiki.blogspot.co.id . I am going to write an introduction for this blog post. We bought a Nintendo Switch in Japan.  I really liked it and played with it almost everyday. If you're wondering what a Nintendo Switch is, it is a video game where you can basically  "switch" everything. The joy-cons and even the game! You can also connect it to your TV. It would be nice to bring it around with you, but when you put it in your bag... Oh no! The screen scratched! So, this is a sleeve that will fix that. Let's get started!šŸ˜Š Kirana Now the tutorial (by Kirana's mom)... 1. Make your pattern according to the picture below. It is basically a 6"x24" rectangle with a semi circle at one end. Note: this is not a printable pattern 1. Cut your outer fabric, lining, and batting(optional). In this tutorial, I used minky for lining and a pre-quilted fabric for the cover, so I didn't need extra batting. For batting, I recomm...

World of Ghibli Exhibition Jakarta 2017

A few months back I received an email about World of Ghibli exhibition in Jakarta. My skeptical brain immediately thought, "Aah, how good could it be... I've visited the museum in Mitaka   and it's probably not going to be any better." Fast forward to August, a few of my Japan loving friends mentioned that rumours said that the displays are very good, made by Indonesians in cooperations with Ghibli representatives from Japan. In fact, so good that the Japanese company plans to take the displays and give them a home in Japan. Well hearing this from several different people definitely piqued my interest and I decided to check it out. It turned out that Miss Kiki and DH also wanted to go so I bought tickets from Traveloka  because they had a sale.  In the morning of our visit day, I asked Miss Kiki if she wanted to dress up as Kiki when she goes and she excitedly said yes. I made her a red bow headband with Cotton and Steel's Supreme Solid in Bandana  ...

Japan Trip June 2016 - Part 9 - Osaka

It was a super hot and bright morning and we were all packed and ready to ride the train to Osaka. We had no excuse to take a taxi so we walked to Kyoto Station... It was a rather short ride considering we moved cities, it was still around noon when we arrived at Osaka Station. The AirBnb property I had booked looked close to the station on the map, but it was further than expected. We were so sweaty by the time we got there, mostly because of our backpacks and our suitcases! I was very impressed Miss Kiki carried her backpack without complaints even though it was pretty stuffed by then. Taken from Osaka Station We had to change our wet and sticky clothes upon arrival, and after a bit of rest we decided to head out. First to Tenjimbashisuji Shopping Street listed on a tourist guide just over 1 km away. It was so hot and sunny I regretted not taking a hat for any of us. I was lucky I hadn't forgotten to bring my sunglasses. When we got there, we real...
