Dreamy Europe Trip Summer 2024 - Part 12 Mandelieu/La Napoule France

The drive from Ventimiglia Italy to our next main destination was a bit long, so we took two stops on the way. One was Monaco, simply because it was Monaco. The other stop was Mandelieu/La Napoule in France because it was right in between and looked interesting.

It turned out that this area was quite interesting. They are apparently famous for their mimosa (the flower) and they have Mimosa Festival in the spring. They sell mimosa products as souvenirs such as parfumes and mimosa honey. When we were walking, we found a shop that advertised Mimosa ice cream so of course we had to go and get some. Unfortunately, they sold out but we got Mimosa macarons instead.

Before we walked around though, I spotted a boulangerie on the main street so that’s where I said I wanted to have lunch :D It was our first boulangerie in France! (Can you tell I get excited about food?) :D The pastries and dessert didn’t disappoint. Oh and did I tell you that the parking spots in France are even smaller than in Italy? Lol.

Behold my amazing parking job.

Mimosa Macaron

Since it was out of Mimosa season when we were there, we went to the other famous attraction of Mandelieu - La Napoule: Chateau de La Napoule or Napoule Castle. It’s located right on the beach, with some walkway right by the water. The last owners of this castle were Americans, before it was captured by the Germans during the war.

The size difference!

And that was our stop at Mandelieu - La Napoule…, please look forward to the next post!

Nintendo Switch Sleeve Tutorial

Hi! I'm Kirana from woofkiki.blogspot.co.id . I am going to write an introduction for this blog post. We bought a Nintendo Switch in Japan.  I really liked it and played with it almost everyday. If you're wondering what a Nintendo Switch is, it is a video game where you can basically  "switch" everything. The joy-cons and even the game! You can also connect it to your TV. It would be nice to bring it around with you, but when you put it in your bag... Oh no! The screen scratched! So, this is a sleeve that will fix that. Let's get started!😊 Kirana Now the tutorial (by Kirana's mom)... 1. Make your pattern according to the picture below. It is basically a 6"x24" rectangle with a semi circle at one end. Note: this is not a printable pattern 1. Cut your outer fabric, lining, and batting(optional). In this tutorial, I used minky for lining and a pre-quilted fabric for the cover, so I didn't need extra batting. For batting, I recomm...

World of Ghibli Exhibition Jakarta 2017

A few months back I received an email about World of Ghibli exhibition in Jakarta. My skeptical brain immediately thought, "Aah, how good could it be... I've visited the museum in Mitaka   and it's probably not going to be any better." Fast forward to August, a few of my Japan loving friends mentioned that rumours said that the displays are very good, made by Indonesians in cooperations with Ghibli representatives from Japan. In fact, so good that the Japanese company plans to take the displays and give them a home in Japan. Well hearing this from several different people definitely piqued my interest and I decided to check it out. It turned out that Miss Kiki and DH also wanted to go so I bought tickets from Traveloka  because they had a sale.  In the morning of our visit day, I asked Miss Kiki if she wanted to dress up as Kiki when she goes and she excitedly said yes. I made her a red bow headband with Cotton and Steel's Supreme Solid in Bandana  ...

Japan Trip June 2016 - Part 9 - Osaka

It was a super hot and bright morning and we were all packed and ready to ride the train to Osaka. We had no excuse to take a taxi so we walked to Kyoto Station... It was a rather short ride considering we moved cities, it was still around noon when we arrived at Osaka Station. The AirBnb property I had booked looked close to the station on the map, but it was further than expected. We were so sweaty by the time we got there, mostly because of our backpacks and our suitcases! I was very impressed Miss Kiki carried her backpack without complaints even though it was pretty stuffed by then. Taken from Osaka Station We had to change our wet and sticky clothes upon arrival, and after a bit of rest we decided to head out. First to Tenjimbashisuji Shopping Street listed on a tourist guide just over 1 km away. It was so hot and sunny I regretted not taking a hat for any of us. I was lucky I hadn't forgotten to bring my sunglasses. When we got there, we real...
