Dreamy Europe Trip Summer 2024 - Part 11 Monaco

After we checked out of the agriturismo in Ventimiglia, we continued driving towards France. The French-Italian border was actually just 7 minutes away! We kept driving to our next stop: Monaco!

As an Indonesian citizen, the first thing that comes to mind when Monaco is mentioned is the similarity between our flags. They are both red and white, and the only difference is in the ratio between the width and height of the flag. Another trivia info: Polandā€™s flag is the same colours but with the white on top.

In case you are wondering, though very small, Monaco is a country thatā€™s a sovereign state only larger than Vatican. Despite the size, it is also known as one of the wealthiest and most expensive places in the world. Itā€™s a place where the crazy-riches hang out, and you need to have an invitation to live there.

One of the most famous person tied to Monaco is Grace of Monaco. Also known as Grace Kelly, the American actress became the Princess of Monaco when she married Prince Rainier III of Monaco.

Monacoā€™s streets are narrow with a lot of turns, I can only imagine the excitement of the Grand Prix on those tight turns. Some of the points of interests are the Princeā€™s Palace, Monaco Cathedral, Exotic Garden, Oceanographic Museum, and of course, Casino de Monte Carlo.

In Monaco, we parked the car in a parkade right by the palace and walked around from there. We went up the outdoor area of the palace, walked through the exotic garden, passed by the Oceanographic Museum, and entered the Monaco Cathedral.

It was a few hours well spent!

Nintendo Switch Sleeve Tutorial

Hi! I'm Kirana from woofkiki.blogspot.co.id . I am going to write an introduction for this blog post. We bought a Nintendo Switch in Japan.  I really liked it and played with it almost everyday. If you're wondering what a Nintendo Switch is, it is a video game where you can basically  "switch" everything. The joy-cons and even the game! You can also connect it to your TV. It would be nice to bring it around with you, but when you put it in your bag... Oh no! The screen scratched! So, this is a sleeve that will fix that. Let's get started!šŸ˜Š Kirana Now the tutorial (by Kirana's mom)... 1. Make your pattern according to the picture below. It is basically a 6"x24" rectangle with a semi circle at one end. Note: this is not a printable pattern 1. Cut your outer fabric, lining, and batting(optional). In this tutorial, I used minky for lining and a pre-quilted fabric for the cover, so I didn't need extra batting. For batting, I recomm...

World of Ghibli Exhibition Jakarta 2017

A few months back I received an email about World of Ghibli exhibition in Jakarta. My skeptical brain immediately thought, "Aah, how good could it be... I've visited the museum in Mitaka   and it's probably not going to be any better." Fast forward to August, a few of my Japan loving friends mentioned that rumours said that the displays are very good, made by Indonesians in cooperations with Ghibli representatives from Japan. In fact, so good that the Japanese company plans to take the displays and give them a home in Japan. Well hearing this from several different people definitely piqued my interest and I decided to check it out. It turned out that Miss Kiki and DH also wanted to go so I bought tickets from Traveloka  because they had a sale.  In the morning of our visit day, I asked Miss Kiki if she wanted to dress up as Kiki when she goes and she excitedly said yes. I made her a red bow headband with Cotton and Steel's Supreme Solid in Bandana  ...

Japan Trip June 2016 - Part 9 - Osaka

It was a super hot and bright morning and we were all packed and ready to ride the train to Osaka. We had no excuse to take a taxi so we walked to Kyoto Station... It was a rather short ride considering we moved cities, it was still around noon when we arrived at Osaka Station. The AirBnb property I had booked looked close to the station on the map, but it was further than expected. We were so sweaty by the time we got there, mostly because of our backpacks and our suitcases! I was very impressed Miss Kiki carried her backpack without complaints even though it was pretty stuffed by then. Taken from Osaka Station We had to change our wet and sticky clothes upon arrival, and after a bit of rest we decided to head out. First to Tenjimbashisuji Shopping Street listed on a tourist guide just over 1 km away. It was so hot and sunny I regretted not taking a hat for any of us. I was lucky I hadn't forgotten to bring my sunglasses. When we got there, we real...
