Dreamy Europe Trip Summer 2024 - Part 15 Paris France The End



After spending a night in Arconcey, we continued our journey to Paris. When I booked the car, I had arranged so that I could return the car at Orly Airport location just south of Paris. This decision was made because I didnā€™t want to drive through the city and we were coming from the south. Save gas, save time. And just look at the traffic jam as we got closer to the city!


From Orly Airport, we took a taxi to our AirBnB in Paris. We only had one night there, so we went out to explore right away. I purposely didnā€™t allocate a lot of time in Paris or in any large cities. After our last trip to NYC, we decided that we didnā€™t like large city travels that much afterall. We (I) had two main goals in Paris. One is to take a nice picture with the Eiffel Tower, and the second one is to shop for cured meat and cheeses to take home. 

In Paris, there is a gourmet supermarket called La Grande Epicerie de la Paris. This is where you can get nicer, quality stuffā€¦ of course with a price. The supermarket has more than one location and we went to the one on Rue de Passy because it was walking distance to Avenue de Camoens, one of the best spots to take a photo with the Eiffel Tower.

We also had the chance to try La Duree Macarons :) And yes, it was good.




That evening, we had dinner at a bar near our AirBnB. Everything we ordered were delicious! It was a nice closing to our trip, before going to the airport the following morning. And this is the end the Dreamy Europe Trip Summer 2024 series, please look forward to the next posts!

World of Ghibli Exhibition Jakarta 2017

A few months back I received an email about World of Ghibli exhibition in Jakarta. My skeptical brain immediately thought, "Aah, how good could it be... I've visited the museum in Mitaka   and it's probably not going to be any better." Fast forward to August, a few of my Japan loving friends mentioned that rumours said that the displays are very good, made by Indonesians in cooperations with Ghibli representatives from Japan. In fact, so good that the Japanese company plans to take the displays and give them a home in Japan. Well hearing this from several different people definitely piqued my interest and I decided to check it out. It turned out that Miss Kiki and DH also wanted to go so I bought tickets from Traveloka  because they had a sale.  In the morning of our visit day, I asked Miss Kiki if she wanted to dress up as Kiki when she goes and she excitedly said yes.
