We left Kobe on the morning of our 6th day in Japan and headed out to Tokyo. We took a regular train to Shin-Osaka Station and hopped on a shinkansen (bullet train) from there to Tokyo. I had made plans to have lunch on the Shinkansen, so when we arrived at Shin-Osaka Station we rushed to Kobe Bifuteki Deli to get some Ekibens (train station lunch boxes). The Kobe Bifuteki Deli can be found in the Eki Marche inside the station and has a variety of beef steaks to choose from for a fancy bento.

The train ride from Osaka to Tokyo took about 2.5 hours, and little Miss Kiki took the opportunity to nap on the bullet train. The Osaka-Tokyo route passes by Mt. Fuji and we got lucky that day to catch a glimpse of the legendary mountain.

After checking in at the hotel, we headed over to Asakusa area. We tried some Melon Pan (it doesn't actually have any melons in it), and walked around the area. We walked all the way to Kappabachi, a street full of kitchen stores, and got a nice view of Tokyo Skytree on the way.
