Hongdae is not famous for it's night life for nothing. After our visit to the Trickeye AR Museum in Hongdae, we combed through the busy streets trimmed with small shops and cafes. The darker it got, the livelier it seemed. Some of us were already tired so we stationed ourselves at a table at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf and took turns walking around. Miss Kiki got tired of the crowd rather quickly, so I took her to venture out further and look for parks.
We spotted Gyeoungui Line Forest Park on the map and headed there. It was a longish park with a walking path. There were many dogs and their owners in the park enjoying the nice weather, some buskers were setting up to play music, and the bars along the park were setting up.
Miss Kiki and I spent some time at the park and started walking back when it was close to sunset. It was then that we passed Millo cafe and I decided to give it a try. I ordered a cup to go and spent a little bit of time inside, until the worker approached us and informed us that it was illegal to drink from a to-go cup when sitting inside a cafe!
It was around dinner time and we congregated at Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf to walk to the restaurant for which we had bought meal vouchers for. It was called the Old Charcoal House from Klook, and boy were we ever disappointed. The restaurant was rather old and run down, in a strip of nicer looking restaurants. I know not to judge a book by its cover, but the food was nothing special either! Of our whole trip with the many Korean BBQ that we had had, this one was by far the worst.
After we finished our dinner we walked around just a little bit more and went back to the hotel. It had been a long day, and the accumulated activities had started to wear us down.
Up next, the Seoul N Tower! Please look forward to it!
