In my last post, I posted about our trip to Crawford Lake. On the following day, we had another lake trip but this time was to Kelso conservation area located just 15 minutes away from home. By home here I meant my SIL's home :D
Grandpa brought along his inflatable boat and a couple of fishing rods for him and Miss Kiki. She was very excited about it. First, the DH and grandpa inflated the boat... while waiting, Miss Kiki walked around the area and I grabbed the camera to take some pictures. The sun was so bright!
At first, grandpa made all of us wear life vests. Then after being in the boat for a while and sweating bullets, I realized that grandpa himself wasn't wearing one! Then he told us that if you can swim it's fine not to wear it, it's not illegal. So, I took mine off and man, it felt really good! :D
After we were well baked in the sun, we asked him to take us back to land, and he went back to the water with Miss Kiki with fishing rods and worms. Meanwhile, DH and I went to explore the path up on a hill with trees on either side of it. Compared to the growth in Crawford lake, the area here felt more like a garden.

After more than an hour wandering around, we started to wonder how the kid and grandpa were doing. We spotted them far in the distance and there were no signs of them coming back yet. As if on cue, the boat started moving slowly towards the shore...
We got ourselves a little tanned girl grinning ear to ear. They caught about 10 Sunfish and they were going to be food the next day. Miss Kiki was a bit sad at the thought... she wanted to catch them and release them back... Oh well darling, c'est la vie...
They dried, deflated, and packed the boat and we drove back home just in time for a very late lunch... :)
And that was our day at Kelso Lake, and below is a clip from when we got back to Georgetown.
Stay tuned for the next post!
