The Presidential election in Indonesia this time has been quite interesting, with two very strong candidates with massive number of people supporting them. I am already set with my choice but this is not what this post is all about.
July is the school holiday season and I am sure many people have already planned their holidays before the election date was announced. So if you are like me, who will not be here during the election day, do not fret! There is a way, and it is not difficult at all. Special thanks to my friend Irene for directing me towards the right information!

Basically these are the steps you need to follow:
- Find out where you will be on July 4th, 5th, 6th, and 9th.
- Check which KBRI (Indonesian Embassy) is nearest to where you will be on those days.
- Contact them to find out which date they will have the voting, and to tell them that you want to vote there. I know in Singapore it will be on the 6th and in Bangkok it will be on the 5th. KBRI across the world are pretty accessible nowadays, whether via website, email, twitter, facebook, etc. You just have to ask Google. ;)
- Get form A5 - Daftar Pemilih Tambahan Dalam Negri from your Ketua RT, have him/her fill it up and sign and stamp it.
- Go to the KBRI on the scheduled voting day with your passport, KTP, and a full heart knowing that your vote matters!
This election is crucial to decide our future, so please use your rights and vote! We can not complain about our government if we do not participate in choosing them or keeping them on their toes.
