After spending half a day at Pantai Pulau Merah, we moved on to our next stop at the Instagrammable spot of De Djawatan. As soon as our car entered the area we were taken aback by the majestic view of large trees with more plants growing on their branches. It could be a little eerie if it was a bit darker, but it was breathtaking regardless.
First, we walked following the walking path with several photo stops along the way. Miss Kiki was entrusted with my iPhone for picture taking and she was super excited about it.
There were horse carts that you could hire for a couple of rounds, and there were ATVs that you can hire for the same purpose. We decided to rent the ATVs for all of us. That was a lot of fun!
We stayed there until sunset and the area got dark very quickly. We breezed out of there and we decided to have dinner at Ikan Bakar Pesona again. It didn't disappoint!
When we got back to our hotel, we got locked out of our room! Our card keys were fine and it turned out that the battery of the door lock was out. The technician had to come and replace the batteries and re-set the lock before we were able to get in. That took almost half an hour! Not impressed, Aston.....
My dad repeated many times about the famous durians in Banyuwangi. There is a village near Banyuwangi that grows red durians. Unfortunately, we couldn't get it in the city and we didn't have time to go to that village. Instead, our driver took out to the street where they sell other types of local durians. They were tiny! Only 5 of us went to eat durian (not including kids) and between the 5 of us we ate 4 fruits. It was so so, not bad but not great either.
We spent the next morning by the pool, the kids were swimming happily. A little moth came and visited us on the sideline.
DH got a headache that morning and he got a special treatment... :D
We went to the airport early and finally it was time to fly home. It was a short and sweet trip and I can't wait to go on the next one!
Thanks for reading!
