Bangkok 2018 Part 1 - Getting there, Neon and Chatuchak Market

Earlier this month we had a short 5-day family trip to Bangkok, the capital city of Thailand. The last time I was there was in September last year with my mom, my aunt, and Miss Kiki. This time, we had a larger group. Both my parents and my baby sister and her boyfriend went with us. DH stayed home because he already booked a long vacation for our upcoming trip.

In the morning, the 6 of us stuffed ourselves into a Silver Bird and rode to the airport. We flew out of Soekarno Hatta's T3. Unlike when I was going to Singapore with DH, this time we had enough cards to get all of us in to Sapphire Lounge for free.

The Sapphire Lounge is nicer looking than the older lounges in T2, but the food items are about the same. Of course, it is cleaner! They served Ardent Coffee at the coffee bar, so that's a huge improvement. The free bottle of beer is limited to one per person though, in that sense it's not as good.

Even though the lounge offers food, we already had our own pork curly noodles from Pluit that my sister's boyfriend brought for us. Of course we ate the yummy noodles. It was an easy choice!

The lounge offers 5 minutes of free back massage, so Miss Kiki took advantage of it. She didn't look too happy though! Haha...

Finally it was time to board the airplane. Our gate was all the way to the end!

We booked airport transfer from Klook to ride from Don Mueang to the city centre for convenience, as travelling with 6 people and luggages was not easy. Our ride was a 10 seater van and it took us straight to our hotel in Pratunam area.

It was around dinner time that we checked in, so we dropped off our luggages and went straight out to find something to fill our bellies. The destination was Neon Night Market, but we stopped instead for a busy-looking diner on the way there. We think that in Thailand, most Thai food would taste pretty good and that stands true.

With no one hangry, we continued our walk to Neon Market. Grandpa gave Miss Kiki a birthday present in the form of Thai Baht, so she was very excited to go shopping. With her money, she bought a little plush unicorn keychain with her name on it. She also went around to look for a pouch for her money (because of course, she didn't think of bringing her wallet) but didn't find anything she liked enough. Neon Market is not that large, so it was a good size to walk around without getting overwhelmed. There they sell a lot of food, clothes, and other stuff. It has improved since our last visit in September. We finished there and walked back to the hotel.

Can you spot her new unicorn?

On the next day we had breakfast at McDonald's for convenience. It was very busy! From there we took a taxi van to Chatuchak Weekend Market for more shopping. Luckily the weather was friendlier, we didn't get the usual scorching sun of Bangkok. We walked around the market for a while, Miss Kiki was surprisingly agreeable to this shopping. Before, she would complain lots when it comes to market shopping. She bought a unicorn pouch to keep her money in, and she also bought more unicorn pouches as souvenirs for her friends.

At around lunch time we had enough of the market so we took a taxi to our next destination. We couldn't be too picky with the taxi, so the 6 of us sardined ourselves into a small cab to May's Garden House Restaurant (Totoro Restaurant)!

Back seat!

Nintendo Switch Sleeve Tutorial

Hi! I'm Kirana from woofkiki.blogspot.co.id . I am going to write an introduction for this blog post. We bought a Nintendo Switch in Japan.  I really liked it and played with it almost everyday. If you're wondering what a Nintendo Switch is, it is a video game where you can basically  "switch" everything. The joy-cons and even the game! You can also connect it to your TV. It would be nice to bring it around with you, but when you put it in your bag... Oh no! The screen scratched! So, this is a sleeve that will fix that. Let's get started!😊 Kirana Now the tutorial (by Kirana's mom)... 1. Make your pattern according to the picture below. It is basically a 6"x24" rectangle with a semi circle at one end. Note: this is not a printable pattern 1. Cut your outer fabric, lining, and batting(optional). In this tutorial, I used minky for lining and a pre-quilted fabric for the cover, so I didn't need extra batting. For batting, I recomm...

Motykas in Asia 2016 Part 7 - West Java

One day after we arrived in Jakarta from Phuket, we went on a road trip to Bandung, West Java. We were on a roll! Hahaha. Our first destination was the White Crater, a beautiful place located in Ciwidey, outside Bandung.  We left our home at around 7 am and arrived at the crater at almost noon. It was a loooong drive. Nonetheless, the view was breathtaking. It was a bit chilly up there, even the Winnipegers pulled out their jackets. :D The crater was pale green with strong sulphur smell, they recommend a maximum of 15 minutes at the bottom. Around the crater were serene looking tree barks with little or no leaves. During a certain time of the day, there would usually be fog coming down over the crater but we didn't get to see it. We spent about an hour at the crater and we moved on to the Rancabali Tea Plantation about 3 km away for some pictures. Miss Kiki was so...

Spring in Egypt Part 9 - Luxor Temple

At the time when we arrived at Luxor temple it was already after dusk and it became a little difficult to take photos. I compensated by setting my camera ISO to 4000 to make tripod-less picture-taking possible even though the grains became more visible. Just like the previous nights, the moon still looked round to me. I wasn't sure which one of those moons was the actual full moon. We walked around the temple first with Michael for explanations about the temple. In the distance we were able to hear the adzan calling the people for prayer. Situated in the east bank, the construction of the temple was started by Amenhotep III, continued and finished by the famous King Tut and Horemheb, and then added on to by Rameses II and finally by Alexander the Great. Unlike the other temples we had previously visited, this temple is not dedicated to a single cult/god. Instead, it is used as a place to rejuvenate kingship. May of the kings were said to have been coronated at this temple. ...
