On day 3, we decided to go see the
พระบรมมหาราชวัง (The Grand Palace). Miss Kiki was super excited about seeing a real palace where a real King lives. The Grand Palace is a very large complex with part of the areas open to public. To get there, we took the BTS to the station where they have the boat pier, and took the boat from there. Some of the 5-star hotels there have their own boat to take their customers between piers.

It was another hot day, but we had long pants anyway because we knew that to enter the Grand Palace or temples you have to have skirt/pants below the knees and shirt with sleeves. Anyone with 'inappropriate' attire have to either rent or borrow clothes from the palace or the local vendors.
There are many different buildings in the complex and the excitement of seeing a real palace quickly wore off for Miss Kiki. So unfortunately, we had to cut the trip short. Here are some pictures of what we saw there.

And... we took a cab back to our next destination...
We went to
Jim Thompson House and Museum for lunch.
Jim Thompson was an American who fell in love with Thailand and decided to stay there, and had been very much involved in preserving the arts and culture there. He went missing one day in Malaysia and now his house is turned to a Museum.

Unfortunately our friend had to go back to Laos that evening so we bid farewell and hope that we would see each other again sooner than later!
Before she left, our friend helped us make reservation at the Health Land Spa, so we finally got to have our Thai Massage. The place was nice, and prices are about the same as the small ones on the street. I think it was a pretty good place to go for Thai Massage. They even gave us a private room and Miss Kiki had her own mattress to lay on while waiting for us. Before heading back to the hotel, we stopped at Terminal 21 again.
