Our second day in Kyoto was a bit cooler and cloudier, but it was still quite comfortable. I had insisted that we went to
Arashiyama area to see the Bamboo Forest, which the hubby said was more like a bamboo patch instead. :D
We went to the tourist centre at the Kyoto Station to get directions, and from there off we went.

We arrived at the Bamboo forest and saw a few rickshaws there. I think you can rent them as tour guides, although I am not sure how much English they speak. The rickshaw men had special footwear and they were strong!

From there, we took a
Shinkansen (bullet train) to Tokyo. You can buy your ticket at the JR ticket office at the Kyoto Station.
