Our second day in Kyoto was a bit cooler and cloudier, but it was still quite comfortable. I had insisted that we went to Arashiyama area to see the Bamboo Forest, which the hubby said was more like a bamboo patch instead. :D

We went to the tourist centre at the Kyoto Station to get directions, and from there off we went.

We arrived at the Bamboo forest and saw a few rickshaws there. I think you can rent them as tour guides, although I am not sure how much English they speak. The rickshaw men had special footwear and they were strong!

From there, we took a Shinkansen (bullet train) to Tokyo. You can buy your ticket at the JR ticket office at the Kyoto Station.

A few months back I received an email about World of Ghibli exhibition in Jakarta. My skeptical brain immediately thought, "Aah, how good could it be... I've visited the museum in Mitaka and it's probably not going to be any better." Fast forward to August, a few of my Japan loving friends mentioned that rumours said that the displays are very good, made by Indonesians in cooperations with Ghibli representatives from Japan. In fact, so good that the Japanese company plans to take the displays and give them a home in Japan.
