Christmas in Derawan Islands Part 9 - The End

We arrived back at the resort and had a little bit of time for relaxing. We spotted several stingrays in front of our villa... From there we got on the boat to go back to Tarakan. Miss Kiki and I had prayed to have good weather for our trip back, and God had protected us on the way and we got back to Tarakan safe and sound. It did not mean it was not a scary ride though, the waves were high... and it reminded me how small we are compared to Him.  It was when we arrived in Tarakan did we hear the sad news of the Air Asia QZ8501 flight that had gone missing that day. As I am typing this right now, 2.5 days later, they have found the plane and are evacuating the corpses from Java Sea. Christmas in Derawan Islands Part 8 - Gusung Island

After lunch we headed back to the Nabucco Resort. As soon as we got off the boat, we got back on to take a quick trip to the Gusung Island nearby. A Gusung island is an 'island' that shows up only when the tide is low. I am not sure what it is called in English, but it is basically a patch of sand that you can access when the tide is low and is under water otherwise.
