How to Make Baby Leg Warmers

Baby leg warmers are one of the very few baby clothing which will last you for a long time. They can be worn since newborn all the way up to their toddler years. They are great to keep those tiny limbs warm without the hassle of putting on tights. Miss Kiki wears them from Fall to Spring on top of her socks under her pants, to keep the small opening between the pants bottom and her socks warm. Considering that it snows from October to May where we are, I think that's a pretty HOT idea! The best known brand for baby leg warmers in North America is Babylegs , but there are a lot of other manufacturers that make them and a lot of times a whole lot cheaper. Unfortunately, though, I can not get those where I live easily. I found this tutorial online on how to convert a pair of socks or knee highs to a pair of baby legwarmers. It's so easy to follow the instructions! Have fun!

You Scam Me NOT!

Yesterday morning I opened my Thunderbird to find an email showing that it was sent from 'donotreply@kijiji.ca'. In the email it said that I had requested to change my password, and if this was not true or if I had changed my mind, then I needed to click on a link provided. So there I was, before my morning latte, accused in my sleepy head that Miss Kiki had decided to take liberty of messing around my Firefox while I wasn't looking, I went on and clicked that link on my email. Voila. It took me to a page that looked like Kijiji.ca and asked me to log in. I started typing my email. But wait.... why is my usually auto-completed email not showing up? Something is phishy here. A siren sound at the back of my mind. Why does this feel familiar? Why of course! DH had posted a link about this before, and if I had not catch this, ..... well, shame on me! To reconfirm my suspicion, I accessed kijiji.ca directly and there was my account, still logged in. More importantly, I

Wrap the Baby! But Which?!

With baby wearing being more and more of a trend in North America, more and more modern moms (and dads!) are strapping their babies on to themselves.... in style. There are so many types of baby carriers out there, from the mainstream Snugli and Baby Bjorn, to Mei Tai, slings, and wraps. While the advantages of baby wearing are quite obvious, choosing one for yourself or for the next baby shower gift can be overwhelming. This time I will be talking mostly about the wraps and the different types, simply because wraps are my favourite type of baby carrier. Material The most common wraps you would find are made from cotton. Different brands would have different thickness and stretchability. My very first wrap was a CuddlyWrap by Peapod Creations. It was a light weight, organic cotton wrap that came in a nice box along with an instructional DVD (which was very helpful!). This stretchy kind is great for newborns and younger babies because they are soft and relatively easier to put on. I

Purse Organizer

I've always been a bit (okay, maybe more than a bit) disorganized and being a mom means that I have to carry a LOT more things in my purse than I used to. If it was difficult to find anything in it before, now it's impossible! Try finding your car keys at the bottom of your purse when a 1 year old is right on your foot wailing and you have to make sure that she doesn't take off onto the road. So I've been searching online for purse organizers and I found: Purse Pocket Insert and Purse Organizer . They are both essentially the same thing but with slightly different method of making and materials. So please welcome.... my new purse organizer! The outer lining is a velvety material that is pretty stiff I got from Walmart and the inner layer was regular cotton. I didn't use any interfacing because the velvet was stiff enough. If I ever make another one of these, I would add a little 'pole' for keys like the Pursekets have.
